Job Summary:
The Project Manager must be well versed in all construction methods and procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind and great organizational skills with a goal of ensuring all projects are delivered on time in compliance with all safety and quality requirements, without exceeding the budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the overall planning and coordination of civil construction projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation
Determine the resources needed (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
Collaborate with engineers, architects, etc. to determine the specifications of the project
Monitor and enforce safety procedures, compliance with regulations, and quality control standards
Review and approve project documentation, including contracts, RFIs, change orders, and progress reports
Plan all construction operations and scheduling intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met
Supervise the work of laborers, mechanics, etc. and provide guidance when needed
Provide regular updates to senior management, architects and owners on project status and progress
Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report any issues
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or related field
Proven experience managing large-scale civil projects
Must be able to read blueprints.
In depth understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles
Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
Good knowledge of MS Office
Familiarity with construction/project management software. Procore, Foundation, Bid 2 Win and Trimble is a plus
Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
A team player with leadership abilities
PMP or equivalent certification is a plus
